The French national football team arrived at their base camp in Ribeirao Preto on Monday.

The French World Cup squad have arrived at their training base in Ribeirao Preto. They got there after a long flight via Sao Paulo. Despite jet lag and having lost one of their star players Franck Ribery to injury, the squad appeared in good spirits.

They would have been boosted by their final warm-up match, an 8-0 win against Jamaica on Sunday.

Things can't go much worse than in 2010 when the players went on strike. To help avoid infighting this time Didier Deschamps controversially left out Manchester City's Samir Nasri.

They very nearly failed to qualify having lost 2-0 in the first leg of their play-off against Ukraine but a stunning comeback at the Stade de France means they still have a chance of winning their second World Cup.

Many think those chances increased when they were drawn in Group E alongside Switzerland, Ecuador and Honduras, who they face first in Porto Alegre on Sunday.
