Brazil striker Fred claims Neymar is the undoubted star of the national side ahead of their World Cup opener.

Script:

Brazil held their latest training session in Teresopolis, 100 kilometres north of Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.

Hundreds of fans watched and cheered for the national team in the mountain city.

It was the first training session after their final warm-up before the World Cup starts.

Striker Fred scored the only goal to help Brazil defeat Serbia 1-0, and afterwards claimed fellow forward Neymar is key to landing the World Cup trophy for the home side.

"Everybody knows that Neymar is the player who makes the difference, the star in our team. He is a special player, the whole world will be watching him closely, our opponents will put strong pressure on him. If things become difficult for Neymar - which I find it very rare - our group is strong, together. We have very skilled players who can help our team to do something different so we can give our team the victory. But, undoubtedly, our team is doing everything to pass the ball to Neymar because he is the main play-maker at our team."

Brazil will start the World Cup having won 15 of their last 16 matches.

They play the World Cup curtain raiser against Croatia at Arena de Sao Paulo on Thursday (12 June).
