FIFA put on a demonstration of the goalline technology in Rio de Janeiro on Monday (9 June) which will be used for the first time during Brazil 2014 .

"Why he should do that? Why should he not use the system? I think it's very important that he will be safe, he will be supported, he will be sure of the decision he made. This is what's effective, so therefore not to use a system, it's his last decision of course, but if the system works - and the system works, 100 per cent accurate - I think the referees will use it."
