The Dutch took some time to get used to their surroundings in Brazil on Friday as the team went for a stroll along Ipanema beach in Rio de Janeiro.

The players were more than happy for fans and tourists to stop them for photos along the way.

Three key Netherlands players are missing from the tournament in Brazil through injury - right back Gregory van der Wiel and midfielders Kevin Strootman and Rafael van der Vaart.

The Netherlands, a three-time World Cup runner-up, open their campaign in Brazil on the 13th of June with a repeat of the 2010 final against reigning champions Spain.

Head coach Louis van Gaal said that his side will have to adapt to the travel logistics and security arrangements while in Brazil.

The traffic around their Rio base is notoriously bad and the squad will fly a total of around 2,800 kilometers (1740 miles) between their three group games in Salvador, Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo.
