Brazil's opening World Cup opponents Croatia rounded off their preparations for the tournament with a match against Australia, who begin their own World Cup campaign just a day later.

Croatia coach Nico Kovac described the first half as not very friendly, for a friendly. His side looked the more threatening but there was a lack of chances.

The European side eventually broke through when the ball found it's way to Nikica Jelavic and the Hull striker made it 1-0.

That's his first goal for the national side since February last year.

Australia almost levelled through Tommy Oar's free kick. The Utrecht winger's ball missed everyone except the post.

They rarely threatened again. The next time Croatia play, an estimated 600 million will be watching around the World.
