Sunday, June 08 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Croatian manager Niko Kovac revealed Danijel Pranjic would go for an MRI scan in Salvador on Saturday and was a doubt for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He also said his team would not be overly defensive and "park the bus" against Brazil in their opening Group A match.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (Croatian) Niko Kovac, Croatia manager (Q: What is the situation with Danijel Pranjic?):
"It doesn't look good at this moment, in the morning he was walking with crutches, that's a precaution from the doctor, so he doesn't put too much pressure on his leg. This afternoon he will go to Salvador for an MRI and we will see what his status is."

SOUNDBITE: (Croatian) Niko Kovac, Croatia manager (Q: How much of a concern is being without Pranjic for the World Cup?):
"Obviously he was our first choice for left back after Ivan Strinic's injury but yesterday Sime Vrsaljko played very, very well in that position, so sure he is an option in that position."
