After their arrival in Brazil, Italy held their first full training session ahead of the World Cup finals on Saturday.

On the eve of their final test against club side Fluminense before they take on England in the World Cup, Italy once again took to the training field.

The four-time champions are currently in a poor run of form and are without a win from their last seven matches, so they'll be looking to put as many past Fluminense as possible.

Evidently, the Italians were taking the session very seriously.

Midfield stalwart Daniele de Rossi appeared to be okay following a hard tackle from teammate Andrea Ranocchia.

De Rossi was left clutching his left ankle following a sliding tackle from the centre-back.

He removed his boot and was checked by team physician Enrico Castellacci but then resumed training as normal.

Ranocchia was brought to Brazil as a 24th man in case of injuries, since FIFA allows squads to substitute injured players up to 24 hours before their opening match.

Italy already lost key midfielder Riccardo Montolivo to a broken tibia bone during last weekend's 'friendly' against the Republic of Ireland in London.

Italy have not won since clinching qualification in September.

But after reaching the final of the 2012 European Championships, manager Cesare Prandelli has said he believes his squad can reach the final of this tournament, too.
