Ivory Coast have held an open training session one day after landing in Brazil.

It allowed the local community of Aguas de Lindoia to meet with the players.

One day after landing in Brazil, the Ivory Coast squad took to the pitch for their first experience of the country's World Cup atmosphere.

The session was more of a warm-down after an intense training camp in the US, but also a chance to thank the local community of Aguas de Lindoia for their warm welcome.

The small town decorating its streets with welcoming banners and flags in the colours of the African nation.

Fans eager to to see up close the likes of former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure. He's the one threw a wobbly over a birthday cake.

His elder brother, Kolo, recognising that they've still got some things to sort out:

"For sure there lots of things to correct, we will improve defensively, for sure we are working at this."

Kolo says the team needs to be given the chance to fully focus on the task ahead:

"I think it is going to be a really competitive match (against Japan), it is going to be very difficult, we need space to be able to concentrate and work on our preparation."

Kolo, who is expected to play at right midfield, might start the first game against Japan without his younger brother, who is still struggling for full fitness ahead of the opener.

Drogba could be partnered by Gervinho in attack but head coach Sabri Lamouchi also has the likes of Salomon Kalou and Wilfried Bony at his disposal.
