    Script:

Hundreds of striking teachers on the streets of Rio wanting better pay and working conditions. They are also protesting against the World Cup.

She chants "There will not be a (World) Cup, just strike" the teachers are against the money being spent on hosting the tournament, they say it would have been better used on other services such as education and health.

    SOUNDBITE (Portuguese) Lorena Felisa, teacher:

"What we mean when we say that 'there will not be a (World) Cup' is not that there is not going to be a tournament, but the fraternisation, the Cup's spirit we had before, that is not going to happen because while the (World) Cup takes place there are people dying in the hospitals, the schools are overcrowded, the government does not care about the people, they just want to look good in the photo."

These teachers have been on strike for a month now and they insist the strikes will continue even when the tournament begins.
