  • Intro:

Feyenoord beat Cambuur 5-1 in their last home game of the season but it was not enough to keep the title race alive as Ajax earned a point at Heracles to win the Eredivisie.

    Script:

Feyenoord went into their last home game of the season knowing they had to beat Cambuur and hope Ajax lost against Heracles for them to have any chance of winning the Eredivisie title.

There was early goals at both matches Ajax took the lead in theirs and then Ruud Vormer drilled Feynoord in front here.

Then news filtered through that lowly Heracles had equalised against the league leaders, There was suddenly hope in Rotterdam.

But three minutes before half-time the scores were level here too as Martijn Barto silenced the home crowd.

Just after the break Feyenoord were back in front thanks to Tonny Vilhena, the pressure was back on.

And in the 72nd minute they scored from another corner, this time Graziano Pelle scored his 50th goal for the Rotterdam club.

Vilhena then got his second with three minutes left, and there was still time for Jean-Paul Boetius to make it five. Ajax held on in the other match so they are Champions but Ronald Koeman's side at least made them work for it in his penultimate game in charge.
