    Script:

Western Sydney Wanderers hosted Central Coast Mariners in the semi-finals of the A-League in Parramatta.

The home side came into the match on a high - having booked their place in the knockout stage of the Asian Champions League in midweek.

The first real chance came in the 13th minute when Wanderer's captain Nikolai Topor-Stanley's powerful header smashed back off the cross-bar from Shinji Ono's corner kick.

Youssouf Hersi also passed up a chance for the home side - scuffing his shot when well placed to test the goalkeeper.

But Tony Popovic's side broke the deadlock in the 31st minute when Hersi made amends for his earlier miss - sliding in to score from close range.

The home side put the result beyond doubt ten minutes from time when Lacopo La Rocca put the finishing touch on a fine, flowing move.

Wanderers are through to their second grand final in their second year.

Prompting wild scenes of celebration at Pirtek Stadium.
