Second place Beijing Guoan took on fourth-placed Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead in the ninth minute when Brazilian import and former Flamengo player, Vagner Love, volleyed home from close-range after being set up by a Han Peng header.

Beijing then suffered an early set back when their key midfielder, Joffre Guerron, was shown a straight red card for a clash with Dai Lin.

Shandong dominated the exchanges thereafter and doubled the lead soon after the hour mark.

Zhao Mingjian crossed from the left and Love escaped his marker, to score with a cool finish.

With seven minutes remaining, the Brazilian secured his hat-trick with another classy effort.

Love was played through and he chipped the ball over the Beijing 'keeper Yang Zhi to complete a dominant display from Shandong.

The victory lifts Shandong to second spot in the standings with 16 points while Beijing remain on 15 points.
