Oscar Pistorius leaves court after another gruelling day of cross-examination at the Pretoria Supreme Court in South Africa on Monday (14th April).

    Script:

Oscar Pistorius's version of events on the night he shot dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp is becoming "more and more improbable" according to Chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel on Monday.

Pistorius twice broke down during another day of cross-examination and proceedings were adjourned until the defendant could collect himself.

Nel accused Pistorius of tailoring his version of how he killed his girlfriend to fit evidence at the scene.

UPSOUND (English) Oscar Pistorius: "It's emotional memories for me."

Nel: "No, it's not. You're getting frustrated because your version is improbable and you're getting emotional. We haven't spoken about Reeva, we haven't spoken about anything, now. But you're getting emotional. Why?"

UPSOUND (English) Oscar Pistorius: "I was speaking about Reeva, my lady."

Nel: "Mr. Pistorius, you're not using your emotional state as an escape, are you?"

UPSOUND (English) Oscar Pistorius: "No, my lady."

Nel: "You can still remember how many times you shot her? I will now start to build a whole range of questions about the toilet. It would be better, my lady, if I start with that afresh tomorrow, and run with it. To start now and re-hash it again tomorrow, wouldn't be fair to the witness and to me, so I ask that we take the adjournment now and I'll carry on from here tomorrow early."

Pistorius denies murder, maintaining he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder.

Pistorius also denies that he had argued with steenkamp shortly before the shooting.
