Fifth-placed Panathinaikos played the Greek Super League's bottom club, Aris, at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Shamrock took the lead when Nano's cross was turned in at the near post by ex-Hamburg forward Marcus Berg.

Aris were awarded what appeared to be a dubious penalty but replays showed David Mendes da Silva did catch the right boot of Haralambos Ikonomopoulos.

However Andreas Tatos' strike was saved by Stefanos Kotsolis.

Five minutes later, Kotsolis could only push Tatos' free kick into the path of Michalis Manias, who levelled for the relegation favourites.

Just before the break, Panathinaikos restored their lead when Berg's back-heel set-up captain Zeca to cross for Viktor Klonaridis.

A second half brace from Sweden international Berg sealed his hat-trick and a 4-1 victory for The Greens. Wallander was filmed in Sweden but there was no drama tonight.
