Two second-half goals from Gedo and Mohamed Salah gave Egypt coach Shawky Gharib a winning start as his side beat Bosnia 2-0 in a friendly game in Innsbruck in Austria.

    Script:

Egypt beat Bosnia 2-0 in their international friendly in Austria on Wednesday.

However things could have been a lot different if Bosnia were given a penalty only 5 minutes into the match.

Ahmed Fathy appeared to foul Haris Medunjanin inside the area early on, but nothing was given.

After that Egypt dominated proceedings and quite rightly ran out comfortable winners. In the 16th minute, Fathy nearly opened the scoring with a sweetly struck left-foot volley that crept just over the cross bar.

Four minutes after that, he had another great opportunity, this time a curling right-foot shot from the edge of the box, but again it went just over the bar.

Egypt finally broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute an onrushing Gedo swiftly picked up the ball and broke clear before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

12 minutes later Egypt doubled their lead. A mis-hit shot was diverted by Gedo into the path of the unmarked Salah, who finished the match off.

2-0 the final score and a disappointing World Cup warmup for first timers Bosnia.
