The 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers came to a close on Wednesday with the big news the qualification of China.

Iraq beat China 3-1 on the night to secure second in Group C, but China qualified as the best third-placed side among all five groups courtesy of a better goal difference than Lebanon.

Lebanon managed a 5-2 win over Thailand on the night but missed out by just one goal. Lebanon with a goal difference of minus 2 to China's minus 1.

In Group A Jordan killed any hopes of Syria becoming the best third placed team with a 2-1 win on home soil.

The highlight of the match was when Bawab put Jordan 2-0 up on the hour mark, but was then sent off for his celebration, a second yellow card for taking his top off.

In Group E and both teams already comfortably though, Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates played out a 1-1 draw.

The UAE broke the deadlock in the 67th minute before the hosts equalised in the 84th.

In Group D, already both out of the competition Malaysia won away at Yemen.

Yemen had the chance to take the lead when Malaysia were reduced to 10 men with only 10 minutes played, however Yemen missed the resultant spot kick.

Malaysia made them pay for the penalty miss only 6 minutes later and went on to win 2-1.

Elsewhere in Group D Qatar drew 0-0 with Bahrain. It mattered little though as both teams were already qualified before the match.

Finally already top qualifiers in Group C Saudi Arabia beat rock bottom Indonesia 1-0.
