Mourinho not pleased with Chelsea schedule

Saturday, March 01 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho complains about his team's hectic fixture schedule at a news conference on Friday (28th February) ahead of Premier League match against Fulham.

Mourinho was upset because they have had barely any time to recover from their 1-1 draw with Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Chelsea play west London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday (1st March).

SOUNDBITE (English) Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager:
"I have to praise (Fulham manager Felix) Magath because he was the first one to say that it is a different match because Chelsea had this situation in the midweek. They had the special situation in that it was so far and we don't play Sunday. Sunday would be difficult but we play Saturday which makes it more difficult. And Magath knows that as he has experience at this level because he played in European competitions with the other clubs for many years."

SOUNDBITE (English) Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager:
"(It) makes the player's job difficult. Not my job - the player's job. I don't play. I can play a match every day it is not a problem for me. It is not a problem for me and it is not a problem for the people that make the fixtures. Because I don't run and they don't run. So it is not difficult for them and it is not difficult for me. It is difficult for the players."
