Kawasaki Frontale hosted Guizhou Renhe in the first round of matches in Group H of the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.

The home side thought they had the perfect start - but Yusuke Igawa's 7th minute strike was ruled offside.

The Japanese hosts didn't have to wait long for the opener though.

Renato scoring his first Asian Champions League goal in some style in the 30th minute.

The Brazlian's effort too good for Renhe goalkeeper Zhang Lie.

Yu Kobayashi had the chance to seal the win for the J-League outfit, but he blazed over.

It didn't matter in the end, Kawasaki holding on to win 1-0.

Making only their second appearence in the AFC Champions League, Iran's Tractor sazi Tabriz welcomed two-time Saudi champions Al Ittihad in Group C.

The hosts had the best of the first half and but for Al Ittihad goalkeeper Abdulaziz Takroni might have gone in ahead at the break.

Takroni making excellent saves to deny both Ali Karimi and Karim Ansarifard.

Tabriz were well on top, but were dealt a major blow when Karimi was sent off.

The Saudi visitors almost made them pay, but Jamal Ba Jandooh's acrobatic effort came back off the crossbar.

Just three minutes later, ten-man Tabriz snatched the win with a superb individual effort from Ansarifard.

The Iranian side then held on for the final minutes to register a massive victory.
