Australian A-League Leaders Brisbane Roar travelled to take on second-placed Western Sydney Warriors on Friday.

Roar held a seven-point lead going into the match, but it was the Warriors who had a better head-to-head average - winning four out of five so far.

That mattered little though as Brisbane went ahead in the 13th minute.

James Donachie made a fine run down the right hand side before picking out an unmarked Besart Berisha.

The 28-year-old turned inside and buried it in the bottom corner, leaving Ante Covic no chance at the near post.

Western Sydney had a great chance to equalise in the 47th minute.

Youssouf Hersi found Brendan Santalab, whose shot beat Michael Theo but found the upright.

Brisbane should have been 2-0 up with 20 minutes left when Henrique was put through by an audacious chip by Luke Brattan.

Unfortunately Henrique's effort didn't match the quality of Brattan's pass.

The hosts got their equaliser with six minutes remaining.

Aaron Mooy's superb cross was turned in by a sliding Labinot Haliti to make it 1-1, securing a point for the hosts.

So, Brisbane continued their great run of form - losing only once in the past six games.

They remain top of the league with 38 points while Western Sydney are on 31 points from 19 games.
