Olympiacos win as Moyes watches on

  • Intro:

Manchester United manager David Moyes was among the crowd as Olympiacos beat Panionios 2-0 in the Greek Super League on Wednesday (5th February).

    Script:

David Moyes and members of his coaching staff were in Athens to watch Olympiacos ahead of their Champions League clash in just two weeks time.

And the Manchester United boss would have been impressed with this free-kick from Andreas Samaris, giving Olympiacos the lead against Panionios in the 11th minute.

Seven minutes later Olympiacos doubled their lead as Joel Campbell, on ,loan from Arsenal, crossed for Marko Scepovic, who headed home.

Olympiacos have dominated the past two decades in the Greek Superleague and Wednesday's victory puts them comfortably top of the table.

Both sides had opportunities in the second period, but neither could convert and the game finished 2-0. Moyes would have been impressed by this viewing, but Manchester United will surely fancy their chances of progressing over two legs.
