-
Intro:
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said on Sunday he would not have signed Sweden midfielder Kim Källström, 31, on loan from Spartak Moscow during the January transfer window. A CT scan showed Källström had a back injury, that will keep him out for six weeks, but the Gunners went ahead with the move anyway. The Premier League title chasers are without injured midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere and the suspended Mathieu Flamini.

SOUNDBITE (English) Arsène Wenger, Arsenal manager (on whether Wenger considered pulling out of the deal to bing Källström to Arsenal):
"Yes, of course it crossed my mind. I would not have signed him would (if) we had two or three more days to do something. It was Friday night at five o'clock, it was then or you do nobody or you do it under these conditions, so I decided to do it because we might, because of the number of games we have now in February, need the players in March or April, you know."
