Zulte Waregem and Lokeren draw 1-1 in the Belgian Pro League

Fourth against fifth in the Belgian league as Zulte Waregem hosted Lokeren. And as their league positions suggest, there was little between the two sides,

Thorgan Hazard has just won Belgian Player of the Year and from his corner in the second minute, Zulte very nearly took the lead.

But it was the visitors who opened the scoring from another corner in the 11th minute.

Hans Vanaken crossed to Junior Dutra and Koen Persoons nipped in front of the home defence to score.

Persoons was hungry for a second, but he was denied from distance by Sammy Bossut.

1-0 to Lokeren at half time.

Into the second half and Zulte tried to increase the tempo. Hazard's deflected shot was saved by Barry.

But just before full time and with Lokeren close victory, substitute Bobley Anderson hit the post with a header and at the second attempt, Caceres scored a dramatic equaliser for Zulte.

So it ended 1-1 and that result did neither side much good... as they failed to make up meaningful ground on the sides above them in the Belgian Pro League.
