Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said on Monday (27th January) that home advantage would play an important part in Tuesday's English Premier League (EPL) game against cross-city rivals Everton.

"I think it's a very important game, we look to get the victory that puts us four points clear of Everton. It's a game we're really looking forward to, our home form over the course of this season has been brilliant - we've won nine games, drawn one and lost one - so we arrive into the game with really good confidence. There are two teams who want to put their stamp on the game in terms of imposing their style of football. These are games which, in my experience of being here, have real intensity but they are full of quality as well. But we're at home, we love playing here and with the great support that we have, we look to get a victory, for sure."

"It's a run we want to keep going as long as possible. It's about that consistency which I think we have found this year, the early part and right through now, into these 20-odd games now. It's about getting consistency, there are going to be bumps along the way between now and the end of the season, but it's important we concentrate on our performance. The result of course is important tomorrow night, but we just need to ensure that we focus on that performance level, because when we do that, then more times than not we will win games. The nature of our game, the quality of our football will dictate that, so if we can continue with that consistency then we're always confident that we can get a result."
