Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he is to become a UEFA coaching ambassador in Nyon on Friday.

"Well, time is not a guaranteed issue in modern day football because it's become a results industry, very much so but what I would say to every young coach is make sure they prepare to give themselves the best opportunity. By preparing to be a coach, that is to make sure they take the UEFA license, without question it's really important. Even when they get their license, they're allowed to keep appearing at the coaching seminars because the day they retire (players) they get the opportunity to be thrust into an industry which is becoming more difficult in terms of results. The best chance they've got is to prepare for it."
