Standard Liege extended their lead of the Belgian Pro League to 10 points after a 1-0 win at Lokeren on Friday.

Belgian Pro League leaders Standard Liege travelled to the Daknamstadion on Friday night hoping to extend their advantage at the top with a victory over hosts Lokeren.

Standard, who went into the game with a seven point lead over second placed Anderlecht, won a corner after nine minutes, and from it, they went ahead courtesy of an own goal.

Liege wasted a good chance to double their lead on 13 minutes when Laurent Ciman blasted wide,

With only the goalkeeper to beat Ciman only had to slot the ball home, but lacked any composure.

Ten minutes from the break, Lokeren again let Liege have a chance to double their advantage, but again the leaders wasted it. .

Eight minutes later Lokren 'keeper Boubacar Barry had to be alert when Paul-Jose M'Poku whipped in a testing free kick.

That was the last goalmouth action and the 1-0 victory extended Standard Liege's lead to 10 points.
