Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho confirmed on Friday that midfielder Juan Mata is set to join Manchester United.

The 25-year-old Spaniard will move for a fee believed to be in the region of 37 million (GBR) pounds (61 million US dollars).

He had fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge in recent months, and played just 13 of a possible 22 league games for Chelsea this season.

Mourinho said he was sad to see the midfielder leaving Stamford Bridge, after confirming that the Spaniard's move to Manchester United was imminent.

United are expected to complete a club record deal for the playmaker, who has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since Mourinho's return.
