SOUNDBITE: (Arabic) Ahmed Hossm (Mido), Zamalek manager:

"This of course is a great challenge for me. I feel honoured to be here. The fact that I am here in my first job as a manager is not a new and strange phenomenon but it became a common practice (appointing young managers) in international teams in the last seven or eight years. I know this is new for Egypt and I know that people feel uncomfortable when they start a new practice. There is an important matter that I would like to point at which is Mido's success will encourage state institutions, not only sport institutions, to give opportunities to the young generation. The new constitution stipulates that we should encourage the youth and enable them to have leading positions in all aspects of life. Let us talk now about football. I believe that Mido's success in Zamalek will give a golden opportunity to young managers in the country. I believe that young managers are maltreated. I mean no disrespect when I say that there are managers with their own distinct style and culture of training who have been going around the clubs for the last 25 to 30 years without any significant improvement of football in Egypt."
