"This has been a difficult decision. The two projects were attractive. But our goal is to submit to referendum projects that were viable from a architectural, urban and economical point of view. Following a deep analysis with the advice of international experts the board of directors have decided to continue at the same location. The architectural project of our stadium has achieved that 56 years after its inauguration the stadium will still the base of our future project. Camp Nou stadium is a part of our collective memory. Is Europe's largest stadium as well as an icon of Barcelona. The option of building a new stadium in a new location is ruled out. Because the cost of such operation would be very financially harmful for the club, its members and the future boards of directors."
