"You know, I don't know if it makes sense but there's a certain flair to his method, and he looks like a very human decent being. As I said, we've trained really hard. We've adapted probably to a new style but I think everybody in the team as well is hungry to learn. You know, as I said we have to be better than last season - so we have to learn and we have to improve."
SOUNDBITE (English) Brian Kidd, Manchester City Assistant:
(On his satisfaction with the squad).
"I think the application, professionalism, the attitude of our squad is second to none, and I wouldn't change it for any squad in the Premier League. Okay, it's not easy. I've had that experience in my care of winning the championship and then, you know, the following season, which it is more difficult... but we've certainly got the players that are equipped for a good challenge of the Premier League."

(On Manchester City's focus on winning the title this season).
"I don't know, there's just a sense in the team, sometimes you can just feel it, you can sense that this team is hungry. And, you know, there's been a great group atmosphere, but at the same time we've worked really hard in training, it's been really competitive... and I've got to say this is probably the sharpest I've seen the team in a long time, I know that the games and the results didn't show it but that is only because in training we worked ever so hard and because the focus was on increasing our fitness levels. And I think anyone involved with the club knows that we didn't do enough last year, so..."
