Thai FA Cup holders Buriram United and J.League side Vegalta Sendai drew 1-1 in an AFC Champions League Group E clash at Buriram Stadium in Thailand on Wednesday (April 24th).

    Script:

The fans were clearly quivering with anticipation, as Thai Premier League side Buriram United hosted Vegalta Sendai of Japan in the Asian Champions League.

The best opportunity came of the first half fell to the home side when Surat Sukha's header went just wide.

But Buriram United did take the lead eight minutes into the second half.

Bunthaman's beautifully flighted free-kick was headed in by Spanish centre back Osmar Barba.

And another Spaniard almost doubled the lead for the hosts as Carmelo Gonzalez's strike went just wide.

Bunmathan's free-kick then hit the crossbar, but there was to be a late and hearbreaking twist for the hosts - as the visitors grabbed an equaliser, three minutes into stopage time.

Buriram 'keeper Siwarak Tedsungnoen failed to punch and Takayuki Nakahara volleyed the loose ball home to make it 1-1.

The draw leaves Buriram and Vegalta both level on 6 points each in Group E.
