RKC Waalwijk begin their Dutch Eredivisie season with a 3-2 home victory over PSV Eindhoven on Saturday.

    Script:

RKC Waalwijk welcomed PSV Eindhoven to the Mandemakers Stadion on the opening Saturday of the Dutch season.

PSV grabbed the lead in the eighth minute after an embarrassing mistake by Waalwijk defender Henrico Drost.

His error allowed striker Jeremain Lens to stroll into the area before beating goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet.

Another defensive error allowed the home side to equalise in the 12th minute when PSV's Wilfred Bouma inadvertently put Robert Braber's cross into the back of his own net.

Waalwijk went ahead five minutes before the break.

Florian Jozefzoon's shot deflected into the path of Rodney Sneijder, whose perfectly-placed strike made it 2-1.

Sneijder struck again - this time with his left foot - eight minutes after the break.

The midfielder gave Waalwijk a 3-1 lead after sprinting onto Teddy Chevalier's pass.

Substitute striker Tim Matavz gave PSV hope when he headed home Memphis Depay's cross.

But Waalwijk held on to win 3-2.
