The Chinese Badminton team are aiming for at least three gold medals at the London Olympics this year, according to head coach Li Yongbo.

One is almost in the bag already - in women's singles the top four in the current world rankings are all from China, but only the world number one Wang Yihan has confirmed her Olympic spot so far.

China's badminton team are favourites for this year's Olympics.

At Beijing four years ago they won three gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

Wang Yihan's already sealed her Olympic spot and now she's got her next target in line.

    SOUNDBITE (Mandarin) Wang Yihan, China:
"I think winning the gold medal at the Olympics is the dream for every player. But there will be only one gold medal, so it means only one player will be lucky enough to win it. In order to win it I need to work really hard in my preparations."

Two other players will be representing China in women's singles alongside Wang Yihan and they'll be chosen by 6th July.

In women's doubles, Yu Yang is looking forward to defending her Olympic title alongside her new partner Wang Xiaoli.

Despite their short time together, the pair have already reached the number one ranking.

Men's doubles gold is considered to be the most difficult category for the Chinese team, but Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng have a head start, already holding the No.1 spot.

The pair will be competing in their third Olympics, but have yet to win it.

    SOUNDBITE (Mandarin) Fu Haifeng, China:
"We will try to play another Olympics (in Rio). But at the moment we need to focus on the London Olympics and try to win the gold medal there."

Lin Dan, Chen Long and Chen Jin will represent China in the Men's singles.
