Manchester United's Park Ji-sung has invited a few of his friends to Thailand this week for a good cause.

Park's J-S Foundation is holding the Asian Dream Cup charity match in Bangkok on Wednesday and the South Korean will feature on a star-studded team that includes Dario Simic, Freddie Ljundberg and United teammate Rio Ferdinand.

Manchester United is extremely popular in Thailand and press and fans were eager to see the defender at Tuesday's event in Bangkok, but Ferdinand failed to show.

In fact, no club questions were taken at the launch event, with Park saying he wanted to focus on Wednesday's charity match.

"Thank you for all the support both for myself as well as for the Asia Dream Cup. I feel very excited, everyone has boosted my morale. I'm sure it's going to be an amazing football match tomorrow."

Park is signed through next season and says he wants to finish his career at Old Trafford, but there have been rumours of his possible departure as he's recently been used less by Alex Ferguson.

But at Tuesday's launch event Park was more excited about playing alongside some of his former teammates for his charity foundation.
