The Jinshan Beach Arena staged the women's medal matches at the Shanghai Grand Slam on Saturday.

In the bronze medal match, Juliana Felisberta Da Silva and Larissa Franca of Brazil proved too strong for Dutch duo Sanne Keizer and Marleen van Iersel.

After a closely fought first set, the Brazilians were much stronger in the second and won 29-27, 21-13 for their second medal of 2012.

Another Brazilian pair also featured in the Gold medal match - Maria Antonelli and Talita Antunes faced Chen Xue and Zhang Xi of China.

The Chinese couple, who had beaten Da Silva and Franca in the semi-finals, took the opening set 21-17.

Antonelli and Antunes won gold at the Olympic Bay Sanya Open in China but had to settle for a second silver medal after their runners-up finish in Brasilia last month, as Chen and Zhang completed a straights sets victory, 21-17, 21-18.

It was Chinese duo's second gold of the season after they triumphed in the opening event of the year at the Brasilia Open.

The men's medal matches take place on Sunday before the tour moves onto to China's capital for the Beijing Grand Slam.
