Bosnian paralympians geared for volleyball victory

    On the 20th anniversary of the war in Bosnia, most successful sporting team in the country is getting ready for London Paralympics this summer.

    Script:

    Twenty years after war started in Bosnia, a group of soldiers are preparing to compete in the sporting arena rather than the battlefield.

    The Bosnian paralympic volleyball team sustained their injuries during the war between April 1992 and December 1995.

    And they are good - winning the European Championship for six consecutive years and the Paralympics in 2004.

    The men have more than medals to show for it, Sabahudin Delalic, has learnt to overcome the difficulties of living with one leg.

    SOUNDBITE: (Bosnian) Sabahudin Delalic, captain of Bosnian sitting volleyball team:

    "This is perhaps the best way for psychological and physical rehabilitation for people with different kinds of disability. Everybody, including me, has changed a lot by playing sports, we understand our wounds differently, the sports makes us equal with others.'

    The Bosnian team will spend many hours preparing to claim Paralympic gold in London this summer, you can be certain that the their nation will be cheering them on to victory.
