In the aftermath of Cristiano Ronaldo's Ballon d'Or ceremony on Thursday evening, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez made the bold claim that Neymar would have a better chance of winning the award if he were to move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery has hit back at that statement, pointing out that he is very much on the Ligue 1 club's books.
"Maybe [Florentino Perez] would wish to have him at Real Madrid, but he is here at PSG," Emery said in Friday's press conference.
"I am convinced that Neymar will achieve his objectives, first the team ones and then the individual ones, right here at PSG."
Perez even admitted that he had wanted to sign the Brazilian in the past, but then had to watch him go to the Camp Nou and now to the Parc des Princes.
