SOLO: David Beckham arrived for his film debut without wife Victoria
David, 42, turned up without Posh for the glitzy London premiere of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.
Instead the former England footballer was accompanied by his eldest son Brooklyn, 18.
Some fans questioned why his fashion designer wife was absent from one of the biggest nights of his year.
It was in stark contrast to best mate and director Guy Ritchie, 48, who turned up with wife Jacqui Ainsley, 35, and his son Rocco, 16, with his girlfriend.
But Victoria, 43, revealed she stayed at home to kiss Harper, five, goodnight.
A spokeswoman said: "Victoria was home with Harper as she was going to the US on business the next day and wanted to put her to bed."
Victoria tweeted yesterday she was proud of Becks's acting debut amid harsh criticism from fans.
David, who plays battle-hardened knight Trigger in the movie, ended up partying with costar and model Poppy Delevingne.
The pair had enjoyed a boozy night out together back in February.
Brooklyn later ditched dad and partied with celeb pal Rocco.
