The Gunners star has organised a day trip for the youngster for the upcoming Premier League game against Sunderland

A young Arsenal fan suffering from a brain tumour is to have his wish come true thanks to his footballing hero Mesut Ozil.

The Gunners playmaker responded to a plea from cancer charity My Shining Star looking to get lifelong Arsenal fan Charlie to a game, by inviting him as a guest of his private box and players' lounge for the upcoming Premier League tie with Sunderland at Emirates Stadium.

"This is Charlie, the 11-year-old little boy wishing to go to the FA Cup final with his mum and dad and hold hands with with the player Mesut Ozil," the Facebook post from the charity stated.

"He has relapsed from a brain tumour, has been fighting for two years and is very, very poorly.

"He is due more treatment directly onto his brain, but NOT before being a mascot with Mesut! He is a junior Gunner, THE biggest Arsenal fan, some things are more important than silverware.

"His mum was sobbing her heart out to me that she can't make this happen. This NEEDS to happen. Please!!!

"Please please share, bombard Arsenal, the FA, someone needs to contact us at My Shining Star and say they can make Charlie's dream come true!"

As well as Ozil's gesture, Arsenal are also planning something special for the youngster against already-relegated Sunderland.
