Appeal rejected by National High Court

The criminal division of the National High Court has rejected the appeals presented by Barcelona, Santos, the company N&N, and Neymar's mother after judge De la Mata had ordered the reopening of a trial in relation to the lawsuit filed by Brazilian company DIS.
As such, the four aforementioned parties will have to take to the dock to answer questions relating to DIS' claims that there was foul play in Neymar's 2013 transfer to the Camp Nou.
With relation to Neymar's mother, Monday's ruling outlined exactly why she remains accused, pointing to: "clear evidence of criminal involvement from the person investigated".
"The irregular contracting was made possible and allegedly produced substantial benefits to those investigated at the expense of the complainant," the ruling added.
It remains to be seen if the appeals of Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu and of the player himself will be successful, with those verdicts due in the coming days.
Once those rulings are released, the judge must select dates for the trial, which should be held at some point in 2017.
