After Lucas Hernandez and his girlfriend were both arrested in the early hours of Friday morning over domestic abuse allegations, a public prosectuor has requested a mutual restraining order.
At around 02:30 in the Madrid neighbourhood of Molino de la Hoz, local police arrived at the Atletico player's residence amid claims he'd assaulted his partner.
Sources indicate that the Civil Guard also arrested the female although she was later released with Hernandez still detained.
Furthermore, both are said to have minor injuries with Lucas' girlfriend transferred to hospital. She has not submitted a complaint to the authorities.
During Friday morning, the centre-back appeared before the Majadahonda Magistrates' Court on charges of ill-treatment, ordering that neither party can contact the other for an as-yet unknown amount of time
In the mid-afternoon, Hernandez was seen exiting the court.
Hernandez signed for Atleti as an academy player before making his debut in 2014, going on to become a first-team regular and French Under-21 international as well as being touted for a step-up from centre-back to the midfield.
Also at the Madrid club is his brother Theo, currently on loan at Alaves, with the sibling pair reportedly subject to a bid from Manchester City last summer.
