Shrewsbury Town vs Northampton Town - Adam El-Abd remains a doubt
Posted Friday, October 21, 2016 by PA
Defender Adam El-Abd is still struggling with a groin problem as managerless Shrewsbury prepare to play Northampton.
Defender Ryan McGivern is available after missing the Sheffield United loss through suspension following his sending-off in the defeat at Walsall.
Midfielder Shaun Whalley remains out with a calf injury.
The Shrews appear to be closing in on a successor to Micky Mellon, who left for Tranmere earlier this month.
Northampton boss Rob Page will have Jak McCourt available as the Cobblers look to end their four-game winless run.
McCourt served his one-game ban following his red card against Millwall, but midfielder Matt Taylor is still unavailable as he completes the final game of his suspension.
Harry Beautyman could start after failing to feature against Peterborough.
Meanwhile, defender JJ Hooper and midfielder John-Joe O'Toole may return to the starting XI after being dropped to the bench on Tuesday.
