Blackburn Rovers vs Sheffield United - Blackburn hoping Tom Lawrence will be fit to face Sheffield Wednesday

Blackburn could have forward Tom Lawrence fit for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday.

The on-loan Leicester striker picked up a knock in training last week, which was further aggravated during the 2-1 win at Preston.

Chris Taylor is on stand-by should Lawrence not come through, with manager Paul Lambert reporting no other fresh injury concerns this week.

Canadian defender Doneil Henry has returned to Rovers for another loan spell from West Ham, and could go straight into the squad for Lambert's first match in the home dugout.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucas Joao is pushing for a starting place following his two goals in last week's win against Huddersfield after stepping off the bench.

Sam Hutchinson sits out the second game of his two-match ban after reaching 10 yellow cards and fellow midfielder Barry Bannan remains sidelined due to a knee injury.

Winger Modou Sougou returned as an unused substitute last week after recovering from a dislocated shoulder and will be hoping to feature, but defender Michael Turner (knee) is not ready for first-team action.

Forward Marco Matias (hernia) is still out, but midfielder Alex Lopez (thigh) is closing in on his return after two months out.
