Scunthorpe's injury list is clearing ahead of the visit of Barnsley, with Luke Williams pushing for a starting berth.
The midfielder, who has been introduced off the bench in the past two games, scored twice for the club's development squad this week and will hope for his first start since August following a knee problem.
Darius Henderson (hamstring) also played in that game while Niall Canavan (ankle), Jamie Ness (hamstring) and Andrew Boyce (knee) have all been training with a view to being involved in the FA Cup next weekend.
Joe Lolley has extended his loan stay from Huddersfield until the end of November after impressing in his initial one-month stint.
Barnsley midfielder Ben Pearson will return to contention after serving a one-game ban.
Pearson sat out last week's home defeat to Fleetwood after reaching five yellow cards but is expected to go straight back into the starting line-up.
Fellow midfielder Dan Crowley has returned to parent club Arsenal and skipper Conor Hourihane is still out with a hamstring injury.
Winger Ryan Williams could be involved after a long-term groin problem, but forward Marley Watkins (ankle) and goalkeeper Adam Davies (groin) remain sidelined.
