Barnsley vs Fleetwood Town - Ben Pearson banned for Barnsley clash with Fleetwood

Barnsley midfielder Ben Pearson will miss the home game against Fleetwood due to suspension.

Pearson received his fifth yellow card of the season in Tuesday night's home defeat to Walsall and serves a one-game ban as the number of players unavailable to head coach Lee Johnson rises.

Skipper Conor Hourihane remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, forward Marley Watkins is still struggling with an ankle problem and goalkeeper Adam Davies is nursing a troublesome groin.

Winger Ryan Williams (groin) is still a week away from contention, while Johnson hinted teenage midfielder Louis Wardell could be included in the squad as the Reds look to avoid a fifth straight league defeat.

Defender Richard Wood could be set to play his final game for Fleetwood at Oakwell.

Wood's loan from Rotherham runs out after the match, although manager Steven Pressley is hoping to extend it.

The same is true of Stoke defender Dionatan Teixeira, who has another couple of weeks to run on his deal.

Victor Nirennold could be in contention for a return after injury but fellow defender Nathan Pond is a long-term absentee with an ankle problem.
