Sheffield United vs Colchester preview - Jose Baxter returns to Sheffield United fold for Colchester clash

Sheffield United midfielder Jose Baxter returns to contention for the rearranged home game against Colchester following suspension.

Baxter has served a three-game ban for his straight red card in the Capital One Cup defeat at Fulham and could go straight into the starting line-up.

Forward Che Adams missed out at the weekend through illness and will be monitored, while Ryan Flynn is hoping to make his first league start of the season after stepping off the bench in Saturday's home defeat to Bury.

Fellow midfielder Kieran Wallace is also pushing for a recall in a game that has been rescheduled due to international call-ups earlier this month.

Colchester manager Tony Humes has a near fully-fit squad from which to choose for Tuesday's trip.

The only confirmed absentee is striker and club captain Chris Porter, who will miss out on playing against his former side because of the ankle injury that has so far marred much of his season.

Few changes are expected from the team which drew 3-3 at Chesterfield on Saturday.

Joe Edwards was substituted after only 28 minutes but he could still retain his starting place. He was taken off when Humes chose to attack Chesterfield after they had Drew Talbot sent off.
