Queen of the South will be able to include Derek Lyle against visitors St Mirren after they decided to appeal his dismissal in the 5-1 defeat to Rangers last Sunday.

New signings Liam Coogans and Gary Oliver are included but a foot injury keeps Dale Hilson out, Callum Tapping is not ready to return after a knock and Steven Higgins has left the club.

Manager James Fowler said: "It was a sore defeat from Rangers but it has not lingered as we have had a good start to the season. St Mirren will be tough opponents as they have a good squad so we need to be at the top of our game."

St Mirren look for their first win in the Championship without Jason Naismith, who has a knee injury, and Stuart Carswell, who has an ankle problem.

New loan recruit from Aberdeen, Lawrence Shankland, is away on Scotland Under-21 duty but Keith Watson has returned to training and looks set to be included.

Manager Ian Murray said: "We saw progress from the side last weekend in our performance against Livingston but we only got a draw when we should have secured a win. Queen of the South will be looking to move on from the Rangers game with a win but we can go there and get the three points."
