Bordeaux will play their first match in the new Stade de Bordeaux against Montpellier on Saturday.

The 42,115-seater arena, constructed for Euro 2016, will host Les Girondins for their final match of the Ligue 1 season.

Midfielder Jaroslav Plasil, who recently signed a new two-year deal with the club, wants to get off to a winning start in their new home.

"This is the first game in the new stadium, we definitely want to win," he said on the club website.

"Whether for the club, the supporters or players, the victory is important to us."

But the Czech Republic international admitted he does not yet know what to expect from the stadium.

"We've never played there, we only just trained there last week," he added. "Without the fans it's different. We will wait to see it on Saturday."

Bordeaux are guaranteed a sixth-place finish, with opponents Montpellier four points behind and unable to catch them.

Montpellier are themselves all but certain of seventh place.

Midfielder Paul Lasne, who started his career with Bordeaux, said the visitors were "disappointed" they were no longer able to catch their hosts following defeat to Paris St Germain last time out.

But he said seventh was a good return for Montpellier.

"It is a very respectable position, especially when you see the top six," he told the Bordeaux website.

"These clubs used to be top of the rankings and have very large budgets. There have significant resources and major players in each team.

"Being behind PSG, Lyon, Monaco, Marseille, St Etienne and Bordeaux is a good place. We must accept our position in the standings and be proud."
