Oldham Athletic AFC vs Barnsley preview - Sadler set for Latics bow

Mat Sadler should make his Oldham debut when Latics prepare to host their old boss Lee Johnson and his Barnsley side.

Left-back Sadler made a loan switch to SportsDirect.com Park on Thursday and fills a position of need for the Sky Bet League One club with Joseph Mills (hamstring) still out.

Stand-in boss Dean Holden will also be without Brian Wilson following his red card against Yeovil last time out, with the ex-Colchester captain serving a one-game suspension.

Holden confirmed that none of Jacob Mellis, Amari Morgan-Smith or George Elokobi (all hamstring) were ready to return to action to face their former manager Johnson, who returns to Oldham 17 days after jumping ship for South Yorkshire.

Barnsley boss Johnson must decide whether to recall 10-goal striker Sam Winnall to his starting line-up.

Johnson, who has no new selection worries, sent Winnall on from the bench in last week's win against Walsall and the summer signing marked his return from a troublesome hamstring injury with his side's third goal.

Fellow forward George Waring, on loan from Stoke, will resume after firing his fourth goal in three games last week and teenager Declan John could be included in the squad following his arrival on loan last week from Cardiff.

Jabo Ibehre, also drafted in on loan last week, is hoping to feature again after stepping off the bench against Walsall as the Reds chase a sixth straight win.
