Pars without banned duo

Dunfermline look for their first win in five games when Ayr United visit East End Park without the services of the banned Gregor Buchanan and Josh Falkingham.

Ryan Wallace also misses out with a hip problem and Alex Whittle is a doubt after picking up a knock in the 1-1 draw with Brechin on Tuesday night.

Manager John Potter said: "We know that we need to start winning games to get into the promotion mix and we are looking to start that against Ayr.

"We have a good record against them but we do need to be wary of the improvements they have made under Ian McCall."

Ayr are again without defender Martyn Campbell, who has a knee injury, with manager Ian McCall opting to rest Alan Forrest who has been suffering from tonsillitis recently.

The Honest Men boosted their chances of avoiding the relegation play-offs by defeating Forfar last Saturday and then drawing with Peterhead in midweek and McCall said: "The players are looking a bit more resilient these days which is pleasing. They will need that at East End Park as it is a big venue and Dunfermline will be going all out for the win.

"We will also be looking to win and I will be sending my team out to be positive."
