Hannover 96 vs SC Paderborn 07 preview - Paderborn keen to sharpen teeth

Paderborn are hoping to sharpen up their attack ahead of Sunday's trip to Hannover, where they will be looking to halt their slide towards the relegation zone.

The East Westphalians have not found the back of the net in their last four games while only three goals have come in their last eight Bundesliga matches.

After a 5-0 defeat to Mainz and a 3-0 loss to Hamburg, a goalless draw in Cologne last weekend prevented them from slipping into the bottom three, but they now need to start scoring goals again if they are to keep their heads above water.

That is where Elias Kachunga can help out and he told his club's website that he is confident about the coming challenges for his side.

"I think we have a chance to get points from every game," said the striker.

"We've just got to play like we did against Cologne and do a bit more up front to hurt them.

"I think we're going in the right direction, if we can just remain compact like we were in the first half of season.

"And away from home, we've shown that we can cause problems to most teams."

Hannover have also failed to win any of their last four games and that is a run which their coach Tayfun Korkut says must be brought to an end this Sunday.

"It's only normal for us that, regardless of how many points we have or haven't got yet in the second half of the season so far, we have got to be aiming for three points against Paderborn in our own stadium," he said at a press conference.

The Turkish coach is still without the injured Leon Andreasen and Edgar Prib, but Joao Pereira could be in line for his first start.

"We have seen that he is a player who is desperate to play," said Korkut. "He is certainly an option which we are considering for the weekend."
